Building quality homes "On
Your Land" within 45 miles of Richmond, Virginia, and the Northern Neck and
Middle Peninsula regions
Dennis Mountcastle, President and owner of Mountcastle Homes, Inc., was born in
Richmond and raised in Providence Forge, Virginia. He attended East Carolina University,
graduating with both undergraduate and master's degrees in business administration. He
built his first home in 1981, a small, rustic cedar sided home in Richmond, and was
immediately hooked on the homebuilding industry.
Now, over 25 years later, he offers his own series of award winning new homes that he can
custom build throughout the entire Richmond metro area, including Goochland, Hanover,
Henrico, Louisa, Chesterfield, King William, Dinwiddie, Prince George, New Kent, Powhatan,
and West Point, plus the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula regions.At first Dennis worked with customers on their own
custom home plans, but found this to be frustrating for all. "Usually the customers
had never been able to see or walk through the house they designed, which had actually
been pieced together from several different plans. When the home was actually constructed,
it did not turn out the way they expected." As a result, Dennis developed his own
series of new homes from which his customers may choose. The customers can then modify
these plans to fit their needs. "I share a lot of the input on the homes we build
with the customers," says Dennis. "My philosophy is to listen to individuals and
to learn what they want delivered in their new home, and to make sure we communicate
enough up front so their needs are clearly understood."
Most of Dennis' plans have been built and refined for many years. This allows construction
costs to be controlled more efficiently, cut waste to a minimum, and deliver finished
homes in a timely manner. "By starting with one of my existing home plans, everyone
is more knowledgeable from the start: the customers, my construction crews, my suppliers,
everyone. This obviously improves efficiency throughout the entire construction process
which allows me to provide homes of superior quality and custom built stature at very
reasonable prices." |
